How to start rails server in background?


I want to start my rails server on red hat linux server box. I am doing now using rails s, it runs on the address of the server box till the time terminal is open, but once I close it it becomes unaccessible.

How to keep it running always in background.

The easiest and quicker way to put rails (or any service in background) assuming it to have Unix/Linux OS.

$ nohup rails server &

This can be used for any service like this

$ nohup <service command> &
